Is there more to life than this?
What’s it all about?
Does God exist?
Who cares?
These are just some of the questions which people ask themselves, or think about from time to time.
In the next few weeks thousands of people will be attending Alpha courses in over 7,000 venues all over the country to discuss questions such as these – not least at St John’s Nevilles Cross.
We are holding an Alpha course at St John’s over eight Tuesday evenings, starting on Tuesday 13 October. Alpha provides an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed
setting, via a series of thought provoking talks, followed by a time of questions and
discussion in small groups. Each evening will start at 7pm with a meal.
Each evening we will hear a talk on a particular topic - see below for an idea of what will be covered - and then there will be a chance to ask questions and discuss issues relating to the topic in a smaller group.
Subjects covered during the Alpha programme
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
How can we have faith?
Why and how should I read the Bible?
Why and how should I pray?
Does God heal today?
How does God guide us?
How can I resist evil?
